Dear Readers,
Go Ask Alice!, Columbia University’s renowned health question and answer Internet service, officially celebrated a perfect 10 years, that is with the Columbia community today. During the decade of its existence, Go Ask Alice! has answered nearly 3,000 questions on everything from antidepressants to masturbation to yawning.
With Go Ask Alice!'s 10-year anniversary this year, it's as good a time as any to acknowledge the numerous milestones and achievements bestowed upon the site during its first decade of service.
The timeline below depicts the living history of Go Ask Alice!, from its birth in 1993 as one of the first health Q&A web sites of its kind, to its mass market book publication debut in 1998, to its present day renewal to help maintain its cutting edge appeal and stay at the head of the class. As you can see, GAA! has been influential to and influenced by higher education, health professions, the media, society and culture, and, of course, its international readership.
Although Go Ask Alice! has changed on the surface, underneath it all, you will find that the well-researched content will still enable you to make informed decisions about your health. And as GAA! forges ahead onto the next decade of its life, you can continue to rely upon the site as one of the leading providers of health information on the Internet.
