Try volunteering for an organization that you have an interest in. There are numerous organizations (pet shelter, library, hospital, day-care center, nursing home, etc.) that could use your help and to which you could make a contribution of your time that will be greatly appreciated. You may also consider joining a club where you'll being doing something you enjoy — hiking, photography, etc.
