(1) Dear Alice, I was surprised that you didn't mention the fabric of the thong. Switching to cotton thongs from synthetic fabrics can help keep UTIs at bay. People who wear cotton or more "breathable" underwear can reduce their risk for UTI's and yeast infections. Additionally, showering and/or changing underwear after exercise (getting sweaty) can help reduce UTIs.
[back to top] I've been wearing thongs for over 20 years and have never had a UTI and only one yeast infection, which was directly related to antibiotics taken for bronchitis.
