(1) Dear Alice, RE: What is a healthy weight? For your age, I believe that 115 pounds is a very healthy weight. We all are influenced by the celebrities and how skinny and beautiful they are. We fantasize about being skinny just like they are but being that skinny is not healthy. Chances are them being super skinny is hurting them in the long one. So don't idolize them just because they are skinny. I think for now on you should just worry about getting healthy and eating right. I hope you do the right thing in the end.

[back to top] You remind me of myself, several years ago. Just take the plunge and get some help because I wish I would have sooner. Instead, I did the same thing, I would go through "spells" of anorexia or bulimia and by the time I realized I had an eating disorder it was too late. Every time I would stop purging and/or start eating again I thought I was fine, but I didnt realize that there was so much more to it. Seek help now even if you are not engaging in the behavior, trust me.
[back to top] A healthy weight is one obtained by a good diet and regular exercise. Some people are naturally larger and some smaller. Its mostly genetics, etc. Being skinny is NOT usually the best, most attractive option. I am super skinny and always wish I was bigger.
