Dear Alice,
Many hospitals are now providing dispensers that contain waterless hand sanitizer to allow health professionals a quicker and more convenient way to prevent spread of infection. It has been well recognized that many health professionals (a greater number than you'd like to hear) do not take the time to wash their hands adequately simply because it takes too long. These waterless hand sanitizers have been shown not only to be as effective as soap & water washes, but perhaps more effective at killing microorganisms. With this information in mind, I keep a bottle of the stuff in my bag or pocket for convenient, on-the-go cleanliness. Future Health Professional
