Dear Alice,
In response to How to ask someone you're going to have sex with if they have any diseases:
Before it ever gets to that point, I try to share a drink or dessert or something with him. Before I take a sip/bite, I say, "Do you have a cold or flu or disease or anything I can catch from you?" It's lighthearted, and seems to work.
