Dear Alice,
After a year of trying to get to the bottom of why I was getting what was thought to be yeast infections and urinary tract infections every month, the gyno doctor I was referred to did a biopsy on the OUTSIDE of my vagina where it was sensitive and had a sort of "ripped" look to it. I am a 24 year old female who has NEVER had a wart, have had only 2 partners in my life, the latter for 9 years. I found out through this biopsy that I have HPV. It neve crossed my mind that I could have HPV lying dormant — but now I know. Turns out my nerves are hyper sensitive and I was not getting yeast infections/UTI's at all — it was the HPV causing this. I am now on a very, very low dose of nerve pills that relieves the sensation that feels like I have a UTI. I have never heard a story like mine so wanted to post it. GET CHECKED if youre unsure!! It took me a year to find a doctor that wouldn't give up until we knew what was causing this.
