Dear Alice, I am a student at the School of Engineering and Applied Science. Recently, I have become obsessive with a fellow classmate. I think she is the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. I have done nothing for the past few months but masturbate just thinking about her. I was wondering if there is anything I can do to make me forget her. I have become so obsessed with her that I am contemplating raping her. --Contorted fantasies
Dear Contorted fantasies, Alice gave you this name herself, so you understand that there is a difference between fantasizing about a woman and actually raping her. RAPE IS A CRIME, PUNISHABLE BY LAW, and Alice encourages you not to forget that. Did you ever consider asking her out for a date? That seems more logical than raping her, if you are interested in her. If this didn't even cross your mind, please go for counseling. There are many talented therapists at Health Services who can help you distinguish between fantasy and reality, and develop your social skills and a sense of positive sexuality. Call x4-2468 for an appointment, or just walk-in SOON. Outside of Columbia, contact the following organizations for a referral to a counselor:
